The Nolensville Baseball League is governed by its Board of Directors (Board). The Board is tasked with the care of the league, its operations, organization, and growth. The Board is comprised of a 100% volunteer membership that is committed to the success of the league while maintaining the mission of educating, coaching, and developing youth boys and girls in the sport of baseball and softball while preserving the integrity of the game and projecting sportsmanship.

The Board is constantly in search of willing men and women to dedicated a small portion of their time to assist in the upward direction of our league. Many of the Board positions focus on a single task or role, and are not time intensive, yet play a vital part of our league's success and growth. Please review the member position listings, their descriptions, and time constraints and consider being a part of our growing and thriving league. President 

Run and Serve on the Nolensville Recreation Board (NRB) as director of the Baseball program, Preside at all meetings or appoint a Board member to preside in his/her absence, Conduct the affairs and execute the policies as established by NSB, Receive all communications affiliated with NBC, Represent NBC in all publicity and programs of the NBB, Prepare Calendar of Events of Baseball Activities as established by NBB, Serve on Disciplinary Committee, and Assign members and/or committees to tasks and assist as required to insure that all aspects of NBC operate smoothly. These include, but are not limited to, publicity, fund raising, affiliation requirements, signup/Registrations, equipment, uniforms, trophies and disciplinary action.

Summary of Role –Oversees the program and ensures all the other roles are meeting their requirements. Addresses anomalies fall outside of these roles, and advises the various positions.

Time Commitment: Regular throughout the Season/Year, Monthly Meetings.

Vice President 
Serve as President-Elect(if applicable) and performs duties in the absence of the President, Coordinate with the President in daily operations, Provide input to the President and NBB for the development of NBC, and Serve on discipline Committee.

Summary of Role –Assists the President, helps oversee the board roles.

Time Commitment: Regular throughout the Season/Year Monthly Meetings.

Treasurer
Serve on the Nolensville Baseball Board. Position oversees the managing of cash and approves all payments with the President’s approval if necessary and coordinates with appropriate contact(s) for the Nolensville Rec authorized accounting staff. Works with marketing efforts and approves fund raising events. Helps with general needs throughout the season and works with the President in annual budgeting.

Summary of Role- Assist the President in managing of cash and payments for the NBC. Approves and coordinates with appropriate board members any fundraising activities.

Time Commitment: Regular throughout the Season/ Year Monthly Meetings

Registrar
Coordinate and facilitate Seasonal Registrations, insure all players are eligible, maintain player rosters, registers, record other necessary data and perform duties as mandated by affiliations and the Baseball Board,  Serve as Secretary for the NBB and is responsible for the recording of minutes, assuring minutes are available at next monthly meeting through Coordination with the President, Present player disputes to the NBB and assist with other duties as required by the President, and Serve on Disciplinary Committee.

Summary of Role –Works with the administration database, to track registrations, ensures all players are eligible, record minutes of monthly meetings.

Time Commitment: Heavy during preseason, light throughout the season. Monthly Meetings.

Compliance Director
Compliance director Serves and perform duties as mandated by NBB and associated affiliation, Obtain signed copy of (Code of Conduct) forms from all coaching candidates prior to the first season game, Obtain signed copy of (Volunteer Disclosure/Background Check Approval) forms from all coaching candidates prior to the first season game, Promote health, safety and protection of all the children playing baseball, and Serve as Chair of Disciplinary Committee and assist with other duties as required by the President.

Summary of Role –This is mostly an advisory role that only comes into play as needed to make sure we have the needed background detail collected. Addresses player safety issues as needed/requested. This is a good role for someone with a passion for health and safety and following the rules.

Time Commitment: Minimal, Light at during preseason-only as needed during the season, Monthly Meetings

Director of Fields
Perform duties and assists as required by President, Provide for general maintenance and upkeep of fields and equipment, Determine sizes of playing fields in consultation with Age Group Coordinators and Director of Coaches, Coordinate schedule with field maintenance staff, Evaluate playing condition of fields and aid officials in their decisions to cancel or postpone games in cases of lightning or inclement weather, and Help monitor the fields seeking the cooperation and assistance from coaches, players and parents with regard to safety and rules.

Summary of Role –Primary role is making sure that all the fields are lined, and that the field conditions are in good shape. Evaluate and make the call in coordination with the President/officials to cancel/postpone games. Can set up schedule and work with maintenance staff and volunteers in making sure fields are ready for games. Make sure foul lines painted every week during season so fields don’t have to be re-measured.

Time Commitment: Regular During season. Occasional in offseason. 1-3 hours per week painting. Monthly meetings.

Director of Officials
Study and maintain knowledge of Rules and perform duties, conferring with Age Group Coordinators and Director of Coaches, Provide a list of qualified umpires to NBB, Recruit and facilitate training opportunities for all umpires, Insure all referees maintain acceptable level of competence, Schedule umpires and confirm that ;umpires are present for each game, Serve as point of contact for complaints in umpires, Review umpires performance, and Distribute payment request in coordinator with NBB Treasurer or provides a method of payment to umpires (provide payment info to financial administrator)

Summary of Role –Ensure that we have an umpire pool to work from by recruiting if needed or otherwise working with other leagues if short. Assign referees to games on a weekly basis. Oversee umpires during games or coordinate with other board members for coverage.

Time Commitment: Regular During season. Typically 2 hours per week to schedule. Monthly Meetings

Director of Coaches 
Perform duties in close consultation with Age Group Coordinators, Direct and oversee all coaches, Insure qualified coaches are selected and coaching clinics are held scheduling, Review the evaluations, of all coaches, at the end of each season, Provide guidance for new coaches to assure their conformance to NBC Purpose, Confirm that coaches, between age groups, cooperate and support each other to better develop each player. Help assist Age-Group Coordinators with scheduling conflicts, Aid in coach selections and approves all coaches through duly established selection process which includes NBB approval, Be present at all tryouts, evaluations and draft meetings, to help maintain balanced teams through a draft system determined by NBB, Insure that signed copies of (Code of Conduct) forms, from all coaching candidates, are delivered to  Compliance Director prior to the first season game, Insure that a signed copies of (Volunteer Disclosure/Background Check Approval) forms, from all coaching candidates, are delivered to Compliance Director prior to the first season game, and Serve on Disciplinary Committee. (m)Director of Coaches is eligible to be considered as a candidate to coach a team, and is subject to the authority of the particular Age Group Coordinator, just as any other coach the AGC may recruit to help coach in his or her age group.

Summary of Role –Focus on the development of coaches and provide support to the Training and development of coaching needs.

Time Commitment: Mostly consultative, coordinate coaching clinic/training per season. As needed to support coaches. Opportunity to envision and implement coaching standards. Monthly Board Meetings.

Director of Competitive Baseball
Duties include oversee and coordinate any and all efforts associated with Nolensville Competitive program(s). Direct and oversee all coaches, Insure qualified coaches are selected and coaching clinics are held scheduling, Review the evaluations, of all coaches, at the end of each season, Provide guidance for new coaches to assure their conformance to NBC Purpose, Confirm that coaches, between age groups, cooperate and support each other to better develop each player. Help assist coaches with scheduling conflicts, Aid in coach selections and approves all coaches through duly established selection process which includes NBB approval, Be present at all tryouts, or recommends

Age Group Coordinator
Will serve in each age group and may also coach, Coordinate and organize teams within specific age groups, Perform duties in close consultation with Director of Coaches, Insure qualified coaches are selected and coaching clinics are held, Provide guidance for new coaches to assure their conformance to NBC Purpose, Help coordinate the scheduling of all practices, Aid in coach selections and approve all coaches through duly established selection process which includes NBB approval, and Be present at all tryouts, evaluations and draft meetings, to help maintain balanced teams through a draft system determined by NBB.

  • U6 coordinator will draft the non-evaluated teams and provide to the data administrator to load in the system with assistance from appropriate board members.
  • U14 teams will be coordinated if necessary as “Bring your on Team” style and schedule their own games.
  • T-Ball teams will be drafted by coordinator and other appropriate board members.

 
Summary of Role –Recruit needed coaches for age group, be the point person for questions, cover minor administrative needs for teams in age groups-typically late adds, player swaps, etc.

Time Commitment: Heavy during preseason, Pre evaluation 5-6 hours per week, lightens up as the season gets going, maybe an hour or less per week. Monthly board meetings.

3 Director at Large Positions
These Directors can cover one of the coordinator positions appointed. Attend Board meetings, promote NBC and assist in various ways as determined by the NBB, Cover one of the Appointed positions below. Help with general needs such as Evaluation day or special events.

Time Commitment: Minimal as needed or as available. Monthly Meetings Appointed Positions

Website Administrator
Responsible for all website content, point person for updates, assist coaches with administrative access to team pages and team info, adding new stories, setting up team pages, utilizing website/social media to promote Baseball Program. Ensure we are benefiting from fully from the functionality of website.

Time Commitment-Regular through season but on desired schedule, may vary depending on the technical aptitude of President or others posting information on website.

Equipment Manager
Responsible for distributing of equipment to coaches. Coordinates with appropriate board members for equipment purchases necessary to run the program. Help coaches throughout the season as necessary if anything is needed.

Time Commitment: as needed at the beginning of the season until equipment is distributed. Works with coaches after the season so they can turn in all equipment.

Data Administration
1 to 2 people willing to set up administrative items such as uploading the drafted teams into the system.

Time commitment: About 1 week of heavy administrative work during preseason.

All Star Coordinator
Coordinate the All Star teams with appropriate age coordinators. This includes setting up any committee to assist, organizing and overseeing the post season. Make sure each coach is given a checklist of items necessary to be eligible for post season tournaments.

Time Commitment: Only once per year, as much or as little time as it take to make it work. Monthly meetings 2 months prior to event and 1 month after to report on results.

Uniform Coordinator
Select the uniform colors/styles and get approval from the committee. Will prepare the uniform order after the teams have been drafted, work with the vendor to coordinate the order, ensure coaches receive team uniforms and follow up with any outstanding issues. Work with President and All Star Coordinator to order any necessary uniforms for post season play.

Time Commitment-Once per season, time it takes to prepare the order form, work with the vendor and coordinate pickup of uniforms. A couple busy weeks Order Prep and Order delivery. Monthly meeting for Uniform approval-Other meetings optional.

 
Picture Trophy Coordinator
Schedule/coordinate the Picture day with vendor and ensure coaches and families have been notified. Order season trophies and championship trophies and deliver to coaches.

Time Commitment – Pictures Minimal, Couple phone calls, potential delivery of picture forms to coaches, Trophies, receive list of player names and teams from administrator and place order, set up pickup time for coaches. Monthly Meetings/Optional

Marketing Coordinator
Provide Direction on Marketing opportunities or establishing and coordinating sponsorship program. Need a true Marketing/Salesperson. Monthly Meetings.

Time commitment- Whatever you create and establish.

Schedule Coordinator
Create the season schedule using the scheduler system following guidelines set up by the board and set up links that will show schedule and results online. Enter Weekly Scores.

Time commitment-Consistent during preseason, desire to get schedule out earlier, learning curve with system. Weekly scores minimal entry time. Monthly Meetings Optional
